Mark Kuzara is a professional pilot and has worked in the transportation industry most of his adult life. Mark Kuzara has always been interested in working with his hands, but until a number of years ago, he had no idea that he had any artistic ability.

During a visit to the Celebration of Fine Art in Scottsdale, AZ, Kuzara met two sculptors (Martha and Del Pettigrew).  They were working on several clay models that were in different stages of development.   They took the time to explain the process, but what I saw made perfect sense to me.  What they were doing seemed so logical and I wanted to see if I could also create something.

Mark went back to see them several times and asked lots of questions.  They were good natured about his constant inquires and even gave him some clay to take home.  Mark took the clay back to Nebraska and began to experiment with it.

This was the beginning of Mark’s interest in art and the journey that has led him to this present place.  So far to date has created many bronze sculptures and has been accepted into several Juried art shows, including winning some awards for some of his work.

Recently Kuzara broadened his interests to welded metal sculpture.  This is the area in which Mark decided to create a piece for his submission to Cranes on Parade III.

Mark Kuzura and his wife Jennie live in Lincoln, NE.  Visit the Kuzara’s website at http://www.kuzarafinearts.com
